Frequently Asked Questions

When should I schedule?

The sooner the better. Maternity sessions take place around 30-34 weeks, so it is best to schedule while in the early part of your second trimester. Newborn sessions should be scheduled before the baby arrives to ensure availability before the baby is 2 weeks old. The best time to capture a posed newborn session is between 6 and 14 days old. The calendar does often fill up in advance so please contact me as early as possible. Lifestyle newborn sessions have more flexibility, and can take place up to 3 or 4 weeks old if needed (although 1-2 weeks is still best!).

How many images will I receive?

That’s entirely up to you and you are able to purchase as many as you like (there is a minimum requirement, but you may purchase more if you'd like to). After the session, you will be sent a link to view a proofing gallery of the images from your session. You will be able to choose the images you like best.

Are newborn props included?

Everything needed for your newborn portrait session is provided. Your newborn session can be full of props, or you can elect a more timeless session with minimal props. For maternity sessions, props are not generally used but you are welcome to bring something personal if you’d like, such as an ultrasound picture or baby shoes.

Can my spouse/other children/pet be included?

Spouses and/or other children are welcome and encouraged to be included in sessions. For newborn sessions, the focus will be mainly on the newborn unless you choose a lifestyle session. A few family/sibling pictures can be included in a studio newborn session. Since the session is 2-4 hours, it is recommend that siblings arrive separately if possible so they don't have to stay the whole time. If you are more interested in images of the family as a whole, or siblings, a lifestyle newborn session would be a better idea than a posed studio newborn session. Lifestyle sessions focus more on the family, and less on the baby by themself. Sorry, pets are not allowed in the studio. If you’d like to include your furry child, please inquire about a lifestyle session in your home instead.

Will you recommend maternity session locations?

Absolutely! I have several beautiful locations I use on a regular basis, and once I find out more about the kind of look you want, I will provide a great recommendation.

Is hair/makeup services included?

I do not provide hair and makeup services, but can send you recommendations for who to contact.

What if I don't look like the women in your portfolio?

Believe it or not, many of those very women asked me the same thing! Anyone can be photogenic with the right lighting, angles, and posing. It also helps if you have your hair and makeup done professionally. I promise you will look amazing!

Where are you located?

Tiffany Walensky Photography is located in Wesley Chapel, FL, which is in Pasco County just north of Tampa. Service area includes all of Tampa Bay, (Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas Counties) including Land O Lakes, Lutz, Citrus Park, Dunedin, Palm Harbor, Tarpon Springs Spring Hill, Dade City, Zephyrhills, Odessa, Westchase, Brandon, Valrico, Plant City, Riverview, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Lakeland, and more.

How long does the session last?

Maternity and family sessions typically last anywhere from 60-90 minutes. Studio newborn sessions typically last 2-4 hours while lifestyle newborn sessions are closer to 60-90 minutes.

What time of day does the session take place?

Newborn sessions always take place in the mornings, typically 9:30am for studio sessions, and a little later for lifestyle sessions. During the first few weeks of life, babies will often have a backward sleep schedule, which will make for sleepless nights and sleepy mornings. Doing the session in the early morning helps ensure that the baby sleeps through the posing.

Maternity sessions take place in the evening, starting about 1-2 hours before sunset for the best lighting and beautiful sunsets.

Will you come to our home for the newborn session?

In home photography sessions are available for those looking for a more natural and less posed look. These are typically called ‘lifestyle‘ sessions and I do offer these sessions. This does mean non-posed and prop-free baby pictures with a focus on the whole family, home, and pets. If you are interested in a posed newborn session with or without props, those are only available in studio due to large studio lighting, backdrops, and props that do not easily travel. Examples of both types of newborn sessions are available to view in the portfolio.

· Access to our maternity gown closet (80+ gowns to choose from)

· Questionnaires to fill out and customize your session

· Up to 90 minutes of session time (maternity)

· Up to 90 minutes (newborn lifestyle) or up to 4 hours of session time (newborn studio)

· Proof gallery sent to you the day after the session: you choose your favorites

· Once you choose your favorites: 2-3 weeks (depending on how many images) editing time to professionally retouch your images to look their best

· Prints, wall art, and albums are also available for purchase

Digital packages start at $499 per session. There is a discount when booking multiple sessions such as maternity/newborn or baby's first year.

Tiffany Walensky Photography offers sessions that include digital images. I also offer a professional selection of photographic art including premium quality prints, canvas gallery wraps, and photo albums that can be added.

You have enough to think about - a portrait session should be streamlined and stress-free. I am known for my organization, timely responses, and attention to detail. I provide everything you need for your session, and my prep guides will have you fully prepared.
